About the artwork

The portrait of Daniel is part of an ongoing series of timeless images set in ambiguous surroundings.
There is no true indication of when it was shot, even the leather strip on Daniel's watch is vintage but this image truly speaks of now.

About the artist

I'm completely conversant with the rigorous pictorial demands of advertising, beauty and fashion, expressed in images which are formative to my career. But portraiture expresses an extraordinary assurance which can only come from nearly a lifetime of experience and the precise and ongoing refinement of vision.

In an extensive portfolio of work representing nearly 25 years of perpetual refinement, the beauty and power of Michele Aboud’s portraits and photography shines through.

Equally at ease in photography and in the direction of motion picture, Michele has welcomed the evolution of these media and mastered the new creative potential in her editorial, commercial and personal projects. There is no subject which hasn’t piqued her interest, her images reveal unexpected beauty and remarkable reflections – resonating with contemporary living. Her work is a rare and accomplished statement of emotional power in perfect balance with deep insight and confidence.

IWD 2019 is about #balanceforbetter. What does this mean to you as a female photographer?

#balanceforbetter seems to be an ongoing evolutionary energy, forever refining what the goals and aspirations are for women of all ages.

What does this mean to you as a human?

There must be a consideration to all.
